Apply to be a Writing Workshop Tutor–Deadline Extended to 3/31

The deadline to apply to be a Writing Workshop Tutor has been extended to Wednesday, March 31! We encourage everyone, especially if you do not see your major or writing background frequently represented in the Workshop, to apply. Visit our website to learn more and submit an application.
Still not sure whether the job is a good fit? Jake Kwon, one of our tutors who is a senior biology major, told us: “I almost didn’t apply to the Workshop because I thought I was a subpar writer and didn’t have the proper skill set to tutor/mentor others on writing. The Writing Workshop has taught me that anyone can be good at writing and has broadened my perspective on what good writing looks like.” We really do mean we want *you* to apply!

Campus Employment Fair – Friday 3/5, 12-3pm

With a wide array of campus employers and departments in attendance, this virtual, school-wide event will provide a valuable opportunity for you to connect with campus employers, discuss available job positions, and schedule interviews.

The fair will run from 12-3pm and you will be able to pop into virtual “booths” to meet with representatives from the campus employers that are of interest to you. Connect with staff and faculty and learn about all of the different types of positions and opportunities available for student employment this spring and in the future.

In addition to campus employers, staff will be on-hand to answer questions about work-study, student employment and payroll, help searching and applying for jobs on Handshake, and support in crafting a professional resume and navigating the hiring process.

The Eco Facilitators are Hiring

The Sustainability Office is looking for a group of 9-16 students (preference for freshmen and sophomores) with a range of environmental and non-environmental interests and backgrounds to join the 2021-22 Eco Facilitator program! EFs work to provide students with the tools, education, and encouragement necessary to develop sustainable living practices, as well to encourage a sense of environmental consciousness and social responsibility on campus, regardless of prior sustainability knowledge.

In Spring 2021, hired EFs will enroll in a semester-long student forum focused on learning about sustainability at Wesleyan, connecting environmental issues on campus to broader social injustices, and developing effective strategies to encourage sustainable practices. Throughout the 2021-22 school year, EFs will be paid to take out compost in their assigned dorm and conduct sustainability-related projects across campus. Working as an Eco Facilitator is a great opportunity to gain leadership skills and take part in building a more sustainable, equitable, and inclusive campus community.

Info sessions will be held over Zoom:

Tuesday, October 20th, 4:30 pm ( and
Thursday, October 29th, 2:30 pm (
